Hello,
This week has been a mixed week.
On the one hand, I’ve been ill throughout the week and haven’t managed to be very active, whereas on the other hand, I’ve managed to get plenty of writing done and had a very busy weekend with lots of great stuff going on!
You take the rough with the smooth and the smooth with the rough and it is what it is.
The most important thing is to just keep going.
Thought of the week: Just. Keep. Going.
I wouldn’t say there is anything I’m particularly amazing at.
I’m certainly not the fittest, the strongest, the most intelligent, the fastest learner, the best communicator, or the best writer.
However, there is one thing I probably don’t give myself enough credit for and that’s having the ability to just keep chipping away without getting demoralised and deterred.
Without blowing my own trumpet, I have developed the ability to remain patient and keep going.
I regularly write notes of my thoughts on my phone.
Here’s something I wrote:
The fact that you’re able to keep going and have the frame of mind and ability to persist when nobody is watching and you have no idea if something will ever work out speaks volumes of you as an individual.
Don’t give up.
Just keep going.
Favourite quote of the week
“Don’t ask people how they are doing, ask how they’re sleeping, you’ll learn a lot more.” - Andrew Huberman
What I’ve been reading
Benjamin Franklin: An American Life by Walter Isaacson
One of the founding fathers of The United States, Benjamin Franklin was a remarkable person.
Writer, inventor, scientist, politician and so much more, Franklin is the definition of a polymath.
It’s a fascinating account of one of the most interesting and influential people in relatively recent history.
The highlight of the week
Jimmy Carr Laughs Funny
Earlier this year I went to my first ever comedy show to watch Jack Whitehall in Manchester.
Jack was funny, but Jimmy was hilarious!
Witty, inappropriate, close to the bone, Jimmy Carr certainly didn’t disappoint.
I’d without a doubt love to go and see him again if I have the chance!
